Here’s How He’s Not You (And That’s a Good Thing)

It took me a long time to realize that meeting people who aren’t you is a good thing. It took so many times crying about the pain of you leaving to see how much I needed that to move on. This isn’t to tell you how much you suck; it’s more to tell you how him not being you is the best thing that’s ever happened to me.

He’s reliable

Unlike you, where uncertainty was a constant, with him, there’s a strong sense of stability. He’s there when he says he will be, and his actions consistently match his words. This reliability has brought a comforting rhythm to my life, a stark contrast to the unpredictability and chaos that was you.

He’s smart

His intellect dances far beyond the realms of books and scholarly halls. It’s etched in the elegant tapestry of his thoughts in how he weaves solutions from the threads of complex problems. This ability to be smart in more than just academics is one that not everyone has, and I’m so grateful he does.

He’s humble
